Fashion photography is a genre of photography usually devoted to displaying clothing, fashion items and lifestyle and this style of photography is most often conducted for advertisements and magazines such as Vogue, Vanity Fair, or Allure.
Over time, fashion photography has developed its own aesthetic in which the clothes and fashions are enhanced by exotic locations and story lines. Fashion photographers styles have changed accordingly, each specialising in their own interpretation of the genre, and creating styles that can take years to develop.
My own style has been developing, on and off, for the past 13 years, and have been influenced by the ideas of Richard Avedon, D Bailey, Horst P Horst, Herb Ritts, the late Bob Carlos Clark, Ralph Gibson's high contrast printing (see him on You Tube) and Mario Testino, Princess Di’s favourite photographer.
